The Landing System division of Collins Aerospace has an opportunity for a Lab Technician in our site in Miami - FL. The selected individual will have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a wet chemistry and mechanical analysis environment. The Lab Technician will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The Lab Technician will be interfacing with the Plating Specialist, Plating Shop personnel, EH&S, Purchasing, Internal/External Auditors and our contractor labs.
Work Shift: First Shift - (Monday - Friday).
Relocation assistance will be provided.
What will you do
Conducting chemical analyses and tests on process solution samples according to required test procedures as per solution control schedule and after every correction of process solution(s).
Evaluating test results accordingly to applicable specification criteria.
Conducting calculations of analysis results, conducting calculations for chemical additions, and performing data processing for statistical process control.
Preparing samples for external testing as well as maintaining records of external test results.
Preparing laboratory batches of chemical solutions for use in process, for testing or inspections.
Monitoring solution concentration trends and issuing chemical make-up sheets whenever results indicate that concentrations are approaching process limits.
Maintaining all related records of process solution testing in TrueChem (software designed specifically to control and automate the management of chemistries, coatings, and wet processes)
Prepare laboratory reagents, maintain records of laboratory reagents, verify expiration dates of laboratory reagents, and manage stock of reagents.
Maintain analytical equipment used in laboratory.
Ensuring all analytical equipment used is calibrated when required and possesses valid external calibration stickers.
Reviewing and/or optimizing a variety of laboratory documents including equipment manuals, specification documents, standard operating procedures, and training documents.
Preparation of laboratory documents including procedures, instructions and reports and implementing them based on OEM specifications.
Establishing the accuracy and reproducibility of testing procedures
Placing PO requests for external testing, chemicals, specimens, and equipment
Provide shop floor support and resolve quality issues (non-conformances) by aiding in defining and eliminating "root" cause (RCCA Process) in relation with Solution Analysis and MPC (Monthly Process Control) failures.
Support NADCAP, customer, and internal audits
Promote a safe working environment
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of previous experience in a similar capacity.
Experience in performing titrations using manual and automated methods.
Experience in preparing technical reports, data analysis
Experience in using chemical analysis tools (i.e. measuring pH, temperature, concentrations, etc)
Experience handling hazardous materials.
Qualifications We Prefer

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 126,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
