The Laboratory Performance Senior Specialist role is responsible for ongoing assurance of performance delivery within the QC laboratory team; including identification and delivery of best practice solutions from across the GSK QC network. The role will support continuous improvement across all areas of laboratory performance management and act as a champion for GPS within the laboratory teams. This role will also support delivery of specific initiatives linked to laboratory Operating Leverage objectives.

In this role you will…

  • Support the laboratory managers in delivery of performance improvements aligned with site objectives.
  • Act as champion for GPS deployment within the laboratory and support implementation and sustaining of aligned GPS standards across all laboratories.
  • Support laboratory operations director in driving performance improvement across the laboratory through e.g. management of lab compliance activities and capacity modelling.
  • Identify trends within laboratory KPIs and deliver aligned improvement activities.
  • May represent Barnard Castle laboratory team in global forums to identify, share and adopt best practice examples.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement programmes aligned to laboratory objectives and KPIs.
  • Support Laboratory team in maintaining a green productivity, performance and QC compliance dashboard.
  • Identify and deliver improvement activities aligned to laboratory Operating Leverage initiatives.
  • Support site GMP inspections as required.

Why you? 

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree level qualification in scientific discipline.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations and scientific knowledge to underpin testing principles
  • Experience within pharmaceutical industry
  • Incumbents must be able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of laboratory operations, have demonstrated experience in regulatory inspections/inspection management and be able to demonstrate tangible and sustained improvements.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification in DMAIC methodology and/or orange belt certification is preferable.
