The Laboratory Manager role is to lead day to day operations within the analytical laboratories; ensuring analytical testing for release and stability testing is performed in accordance with product registrations and GMP standards.

In this role you will…

Ensure raw materials, packaging materials, product intermediates, bulk product and finished product (release and stability) are tested in accordance with registration and regulatory GMP standards.
Ensure finished product, intermediate and raw/packaging material samples are taken, stored and disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure the above testing is conducted and recorded in accordance with Data Integrity requirements and using appropriately validated methods and qualified and calibrated equipment.
Identify, embed and maintain appropriate safety and quality standards within the laboratory and identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor appropriate performance metrics and product/method performance trends to identify and implement improvement plans as required.
Ensure QC staff are adequately qualified and experience to perform their duties and that all staff are appropriately trained.
Ensure the GSK GPS system is embedded within their areas and that all members of the team understand and actively participate in setting and maintaining GPS standards.
Support internal and external inspection activities and take accountability for always maintaining an inspection ready state within the laboratories.
Support the Laboratory Operations Director in identification and delivery of annual performance objectives within the team.
Deputise for the Laboratory Operations Director as required.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

Degree level qualification in relevant discipline
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a laboratory/QC testing environment.
Experience in preparing for and fronting regulatory inspections.
Knowledge
