PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for ensuring that product microbiological and chemical specifications are met and that product adheres to customer requirements and Quality Assurance standards. This role will perform testing for ready-to-eat (RTE) products as well as first processing products.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Log samples received for analysis and prepare samples for shipment to 3rd party laboratories
- Create Certificate of Analysis (COA’s), provide for shipments and maintain updated daily data spreadsheets wit
- Gather data, create reports and send to customers
- Partner with other departments to resolve basic issues concerning specifications
- Assist with AQL, SSOP, GMP, HACCP, Foreign materials, new weights, label verifications as requested
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in relevant subject area from an accredited institution
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Demonstrated experience with basic laboratory techniques
- Knowledge of SPC, HACCP, TQM and basic knowledge of products produced
- Must have proficient computer and math skills
- Ability to communicate (speak and write) and comprehend (spoken and written) English
- Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and with external customers in a timely and professional manner
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
- Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move about within plant environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
