Position Overview:

***Please Note: While this position is listed as hybrid, candidates must be willing to go on-site, as this position will provide both on-site AND remote support. Incumbents must reside within the Sutter Health Valley Area geographical footprint to provide local on-site support to Laboratory locations as needed. Candidates should be prepared to commute to the office to support team collaboration and business needs.***

Provides on-site AND remote advanced technical support to one or more Clinical and/or Pathology Laboratories. Assists with daily laboratory information systems (LIS) operations, completing a wide variety of planned and unplanned tasks. Acts as a communication liaison between operations, vendors and multiple Sutter Health Information Systems (SHIS) departments to ensure end-users are supported. Assists with resolution of basic IS problems and installation of laboratory equipment. Places order for new or replacement LIS hardware. Performs a variety of tasks to assist with the maintenance and effective functioning of the LIS, including database validation, monitoring of logs and maintenance of fee schedules. Performs a variety of tasks in support of the Laboratory/Pathology quality assurance program, including generating reports, conducting audits and participating in projects or initiatives that include LIS changes. Also assists in training end-users to optimize the utilization and functionality of the LIS.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Associate's: Biology, computer science, information management or technology, medical technology, physical science or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

1 year recent relevant experience. Experience with LIS systems such as Clinysis (formerly Sunquest Information Systems) or other LIS systems such as Meditech and Cerner is desirable.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Working knowledge of computer applications (such as Microsoft Office Suite), networks, interfaces, protocols, and decision support systems.

Basic understanding of laboratory operations, medical terminology, billing, and project management concepts.

Attention to detail with good time management and organization skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment.

Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, while completing assignments with minimal supervision and within standardized policies, procedures, and practices.

Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve complex problems by selecting solutions from established options.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally while building cooperative partnerships with team members, end users, external vendors and other healthcare providers to achieve department and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $32.39 to $40.48 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
