Label Technician I

Summary

The Label Technician I prints labels, receives and issues labels and labeling in conjunction with accurate inventory control records and assists in maintaining Label Control security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure Printing system and Vision system are set up in accordance with the approved print packet.

  • Print labels in accordance with study specific requirements.

  • Receive, stage and issue labels and labeling.

  • Inspection of Sharp Clinical Services printed, customer and vendor supplied labels.

  • Complete and update all inventory records in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Perform receipt, reconciliation and destruction of labels from customers and/or vendors/suppliers.

  • Test and receive blank label stock.

  • Perform label inventory cycle counts.

  • Maintain Label Room in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • Assist with maintaining security of Label Control area.

  • Participate in training of new Label Technicians.

  • Manage Smartsheet entries for printing, inspection, and staging tasks.

  • Meet established schedules in a timely manner. 

  • Notify management of any scheduling issues and assist in solutions to resolve issues.

  • Communicate and participate actively in Label team meetings.

  • Participate as scheduled in Daily Standup Meeting.

  • Maintain compliance with cGMP and all competent authority guidelines by regularly reviewing and adhering to SOPs

  • Adhere to set safety standards.

  • Participate as a team member, support the company mission and vision and contribute to the pursuit of the company's goals.

  • Achieve expected performance measures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.

  • 1-year prior experience in a label production or clinical packaging areas or equivalent combination of experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet critical timelines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contacts.

Language Skills:

Strong ability to read, write and comprehend the English language. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company. Good interpersonal skills.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products is required, with Smartsheet experience a highly desirable advantage. Experience with SAP is desirable.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to think creatively, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to handle multiple tasks and make sound decisions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear and frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to traverse the facility on occasion.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and ability to adjust focus.
