Key Account Manager

Main Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned key customers, selected products and target market segments to achieve sales and margin objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with directly assigned customers and ensure a high level of technical and commercial support to maximise the customers potential and long-term partnership.   
  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships through regular engagement and implementation of agreed business strategies and objectives
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the assigned customer base and broader market expanding Azelis’ product offering and customer portfolio in Food & Nutrition
  • Lead commercial negotiations with a strategic and value-driven approach, ensuring optimal outcomes for both Azelis and the customer.
  • Collaborate with internal Product and Business managers to align customer solutions with available supplier portfolios and ensure timely support for commercial initiatives.
  • Manage customer forecasts and stock levels to ensure supply continuity and optimise inventory.
  • Leverage and manage Azelis and customer portals to streamline communication, planning and new business development.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial and customer-facing role within the food ingredients, dairy, or biotechnology sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology)
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with BioSolutions, dairy fermentation, cultures and enzyme functionality in food processing, with an understanding of their applications in both traditional dairy products and non-dairy (plant-based) alternatives. Strong capability to communicate technical benefits in a clear, customer-focused manner.
  • Self-starter with initiative, resilience, and a proactive approach to identifying and capitalising on new opportunities.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage B2B customer accounts in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, from R&D to senior management.
  • Organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Confident using CRM tools and reporting systems.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a high-performing team.
