Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Jasper Developer with over 7 years of experience to design, develop, and support complex reporting solutions using Jaspersoft technology. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of report development, deployment, and architecture, with a proven ability to translate business requirements into functional reports and dashboards.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Weehawken, NJ is $100k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support complex reports using Jaspersoft Studio.
  • Create detailed and visually appealing dashboards with rich data visualizations.
  • Develop charts, graphs, bar charts, and other visual representations using Customizers.
  • Build Main and Sub-Reports as per business needs.
  • Handle report deployment, configuration, and integration within different environments.
  • Produce reports in multiple formats including CSV, XML, HTML, XLSX, and PDF.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide reporting solutions.
  • Analyze and interpret reporting requirements to deliver optimal technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to reports and deployment.
  • Explore and propose alternative design approaches for efficiency and performance improvements.
  • Maintain and optimize overall reporting architecture, ensuring scalability and robustness.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Jasper Reports Developer, with a focus on enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Expertise in Jaspersoft Studio for report design and development.
  • Strong understanding of Jaspersoft Architecture and deployment strategies.
  • Experience in developing complex reports utilizing the Jasper Report Library.
  • Proficiency in creating dashboards with visual data representations.
  • Hands-on experience with creating various report formats (CSV, XML, HTML, XLSX, PDF).
  • Solid knowledge of Java programming, including Servlet, JSP, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with J2EE technologies.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex reporting requirements.
  • Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to explore and implement technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with business stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with report customization and advanced visualizations.
  • Knowledge of working in agile development environments.
  • Exposure to other BI/reporting tools is a plus.
