This position, based in Genentech's Hillsboro, Oregon campus, provides the opportunity to have a key role in a highly automated pharmaceutical drug substance facility. The site employs highly integrated computer control systems to manage plant operations and manufacturing data. The ITOT Team in Hillsboro is supporting Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) which is the commercial Aseptic filling for Drug Product and launch site for North America and Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT) which is transitioning into a multi-product facility for development, clinical and commercial supply capabilities for individualized and cell therapies.
ITOT is a global organization supporting Roche and Genentech manufacturing sites around the world. It is currently undergoing a transformation towards digitalization, advancing fundamental elements to meet future needs, such as standardizing and leveraging new technologies.
The Opportunity
The ITOT Project Manager leads the implementation of IT OT projects throughout all phases of execution. Projects range from new implementations and lifecycle upgrades of IT OT software and Infrastructure, to department internal continuous improvement projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for contributing to the management of all aspects of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication. The Project Manager will be a part of the ITOT Project Management Team based in Hillsboro, reporting directly to the ITOT Projects and Compliance Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate effectively with ITOT personnel, compliance/validation experts, sites, and contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Provide innovative and out of the box thinking.
Proactively Identify and mitigate potential risks, issues, and conflicts throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and report on project status to senior management.
2. Budgeting and Resource Management:
Support the development and management of the project budget to ensure financial accountability and cost control.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and optimize efficiency.
Support procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and material/equipment acquisitions.
3. Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and clear communication
Serve as a trusted liaison between all project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment of objectives.
Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and progress reports to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
4. Team Leadership:
Provide effective leadership to the project team, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and motivation.
Mentor and guide team members, providing support, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Provide strategic design and technical expertise to guide design teams in planning, designing and constructing a state-of-the-art facility.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 6+ years experience in project management, preferably in a regulated industry (i.e. pharmaceutical, healthcare, finance, energy, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of project management principles, tools, methodologies, and industry best practices. PMP certification is a plus.
Outstanding teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively lead and coordinate cross-functional and interdepartmental teams, both internal and external.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on creative solutions and sound judgment.
Strong financial acumen, with extensive experience in budget planning and management.
Ability to thrive under pressure, consistently meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and engage with users, technical experts, and contractors across diverse disciplines.
Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $103,900.00 - $192,900. Annual Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
