The Senior Project Manager is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for leading and directing concurrent client projects classified as standard or complex.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to interface with all project stakeholders to take projects from original concept through to final implementation, including handing over to Operations (whether internal to the organization or into the client's support operations).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple ITO projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery aligned with client expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for international clients, maintaining strong relationships and managing communications.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Monitor and control project progress, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
- Manage project budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
- Coordinate with internal teams (development, QA, infrastructure, support) to ensure smooth execution.
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide transparent reporting to clients and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and client satisfaction.
- Support pre-sales activities including proposal development, effort estimation, and client presentations.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Deep understanding of IT outsourcing models, service delivery, and client engagement.
- Strong project management skills with proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects.
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage client expectations, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accountability, ownership, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Trello) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage project financials.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
- ITIL certification is a plus.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT project management, preferably in an outsourcing or global delivery environment.
- Proven track record of managing international clients and distributed teams.
- Experience in handling project budgets, timelines, and quality metrics.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects in a fast-paced, client-facing role.
