IT Support Specialist

Noble is hiring for an IT Support Specialist at our brand new state of the art facility in Houston, Texas office. Noble is a leading offshore drilling contractor for the oil and gas industry. The Company owns and operates one of the most modern, versatile, and technically advanced fleets in the offshore drilling industry. Noble performs, through its subsidiaries, contract drilling services with a fleet of offshore drilling units focused largely on ultra-deepwater and high specification jack-up drilling opportunities in both established and emerging regions worldwide. This role is responsible for the overall Local IT delivery to the location. This includes ensuring minimal downtime, maximum performance and handling any changes to ensure that they are aligned with the IT strategy and IT standards. This position also engages, supports, and trains Noble employees with high service professionalism in matters of IT assistance. The IT Specialist role is responsible to ensure that all IT equipment used by the employees in local offices and locations is always available and working to the highest performance standards. The IT Specialist manages the IT assets, such as PCs, TVs and audio visual equipment for these locations and has the responsibility to adhere to and track support contracts and agreements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Stakeholder Management

  • The IT Specialist is the primary interface between the IT organization and the location. 
  • Maintains strong business relationships with senior management and critical stakeholders at locations of responsibility and collaborate with Local IT stakeholders.
  • Communicate with Local IT stakeholders through a documented communication plan and recurring scheduled meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for IT engagement with Local IT locations and translate opportunities to strategic advantage.
  • Identify and document changes in Local IT business inputs and processes, streamline communications with IT management, and translate changes into actionable strategies.
  • Assess all change management impacting Local IT, and interface with IT management and Local IT stakeholders.
  • Assessment and governance of capacity and lifecycle management of Local IT assets.
  • Continual improvements of all Noble IT services (e.g., self-help, hardware ordering, support tools, meeting rooms and AV equipment).
  • Ensure that emergency rooms, meeting rooms and Local IT offices are safe, clean, and presentable and that equipment is frequency tested and working.
  • Adhere to Noble cost management and lifecycle governance principles for all IT hardware.
  • Review and approve invoices for in scope hardware and service agreements.

Project

  • Technical Lead for Projects
  • Assume lead technical role in Local IT projects in coordination with the Enterprise Architecture and IT Operations teams for the location including the following tasks: Business case development, Task level plan development, acquisition planning, identification of risks and possible remediation actions, team resource allocation and status and closure reporting
  • Clearly communicate technology issues, plans and solutions from both a business and technical perspective.

Operations and information system design, architecture and administration

  • Maintain the design and configuration documentation for the Noble IT assets for the location.
  • Strongly contribute to execution and management of service life cycle including: Policies/SLA negotiation and adherence, establishment of metrics , reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, documentation, and execution of periodic (planned and unplanned) IT equipment maintenance routines.
  • Manage the monitoring of Noble IT infrastructure for the location.
  • Assist with the periodic audits for Sarbanes Oxley and security by providing documentation, data and explanation of policies and processes for analysis by security and audit teams.
  • Assist with disaster recovery testing and design.
  • Assist in managing associated budget items aiding in the forecasting and explanation of significant deviations.
  • Assist with annual expense and capital budget requests as they relate to the Noble IT assets for the location.

Break-Fix

  • Act as subject matter expert and escalation point in case of escalated and high severity incidents, projects, initiatives, or changes to the Local IT landscape
  • Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management Driver.
  • Participates in on call rotation.
  • Manage, forecast, and analyze production requests/ issues.
  • Manage the resolution with business relevant solutions.

Other

  • Assure adherence to Noble’s Cyber Security Framework.
  • Maintain relationships with IT management and IT staff.
  • Adhere to professional standards and Noble’s Administrative Policy Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other IT related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Support with specific knowledge in the following:
  • Server Support (Hardware, Windows Server 2016/ 2019, Linux, Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE)
  • Desktop Support (Windows 10, Windows 11).
  • Mobile Device Management
  • LANs, WANs, and WLANs
  • Network routing and switching
  • Firewalls
  • Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet routers, switches, firewalls
  • ITIL Foundation and ITSM framework experience.
  • ServiceNow experience.
  • Active Directory, AAD, LDAP.
  • Microsoft 365, Compliance, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, Power Apps.
  • Project Management experience and skills, PMP certification would be a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively across and within diverse teams.
  • Travel is an essential job function (approximately 10%, domestic, international, & offshore).
  • Ability to work overtime and on-call as required.
