ClickHouse is actively seeking an IT Operations Specialist to join our distributed team and play a vital role in keeping our technology infrastructure running smoothly while empowering our employees to work at their best. In this hands-on role, you'll manage application access, oversee device lifecycle operations across our remote workforce, and serve as a power user champion who creates training materials and shares productivity tips to help colleagues maximize their effectiveness. Responsibilities include:

Access Management

  • Provision and deprovision user access to applications and systems resources
  • Maintain accurate records of user permissions and access rights
  • Implement and enforce access control policies and security protocols
  • Review and audit user access permissions on a regular basis
  • Respond to access requests and resolve access-related issues in a timely manner

Device Lifecycle Management

  • Coordinate onboarding processes including device setup, configuration, and deployment for new employees
  • Execute offboarding procedures including device retrieval, data wiping, and asset inventory updates
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all IT hardware and software assets
  • Manage device repairs, replacements, and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies during all device transitions
  • Provide remote support for device setup and configuration

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Monitor IT systems and infrastructure for performance and availability
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and configurations
  • Participate in IT projects and infrastructure improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline IT operations
  • Maintain vendor relationships for hardware, software, and service providers

Application Communication & Enablement

  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of user guides and other quick-reference materials for current and newly onboarded applications
  • Communicate application updates, new features, and best practices to end users
  • Conduct enablement sessions and office hours as needed to help users maximize application effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through advanced application features and workflows

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or related role in a remote or distributed environment
  • Start-up experience preferred
  • Proven experience with user access management and identity management systems
  • Power user proficiency with productivity suites (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) including advanced features, shortcuts, and optimization techniques
  • Expert-level knowledge of collaboration platforms (Slack) including workflow automation, custom integrations, and productivity features
  • Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) and asset management tools and platforms (Okta, ConductorOne, Lumos, ZenAdmin)
  • Knowledge of MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Linear, GitHub)
  • Ability to provide remote technical support and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to learn new applications quickly and discover advanced functionality
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, user-friendly terms
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously across different time zones
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service mindset
  • Experience creating training content, user documentation, or enablement materials

Compensation

For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range for this position is listed above. In certain locations, such as Los Angeles, CA, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, the Seattle, WA, Area, and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed.

These salary ranges reflect what we reasonably and in good faith believe to be the minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation may be higher or lower than the amounts listed, and the ranges may be subject to future adjustments.

An individual’s placement within the range will depend on various factors, including (but not limited to) education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and the needs of the business or organization.
