We are seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure and Service Management Consultant to lead a strategic engagement focused on assessing, documenting, and improving our current IT operational processes. This role will also provide temporary oversight of the Infrastructure and Service Desk teams, including tactical oversite for Cybersecurity operations, ensuring continuity and alignment with best practices. A key component of this engagement will be identifying and implementing quick win opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
This is a temporary, full-time position that is expected to last approximately 6 months, with the potential to extend, based on business needs.
Strategic Process Assessment & Design
Conduct a comprehensive review of current IT infrastructure, service management, and cybersecurity processes.
Facilitate structured stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather insights and validate workflows.
Document current state processes, systems, dependencies and organizational structures using standardized frameworks.
Develop future state recommendations aligned with ITIL, COBIT, and other relevant methodologies.
Create a roadmap for process and operational improvements.
Review existing governance frameworks, decision rights, and escalation paths.
Evaluate KPI dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
Operational Oversight & Leadership
Provide interim leadership and tactical oversight for the Infrastructure and Service Desk teams.
Support day-to-day decision-making, prioritization, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure tactical alignment and risk mitigation.
Provide tactical monitoring for cybersecurity threats and issues.
Foster team engagement and ensure continuity of service delivery during the engagement period.
Propose and implement improvements for visibility and accountability.
Review Technology Contracts and subscriptions, assess ownership, business alignment and recommend rationalization/renegotiation strategies
Support internal communications to ensure transparency and engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Partner with IT Operations, Security, Architecture, and Business Units to ensure alignment and buy-in.
Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to senior leadership.
Prepare executive-level documentation and presentations.
7+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Service Management, and consulting roles.
Strong knowledge of ITIL, service delivery models, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
Demonstrated success in leading process redesign and operational improvement initiatives.
Experience managing or overseeing technical teams in a matrixed or transitional environment.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
ITIL v4 Certification or equivalent.
Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Expertise in Azure (particularly around IaaS, PaaS, Shared files) will be huge plus
Proven experience in Windows and Office 365 ecosystem
Experience in advanced internet working initiatives. large-scan LAN, WAN, VoIP, Cisco IOS (switches, ASA firewalls, QoS policies, Access lists and traffic prioritization
Experience working with Carriers and Telecom (Avaya Cloud and/or Five9 preferred)
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
Prior experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance) is a plus.
Good understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Bitbucket for development, version control, collaboration, and tracking

Work is primarily performed remotely, however, when possible and necessary, teams meet in person to conduct the business of the organization and build team relationships.

Compensation | Benefits:
The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate's geographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
