Internship candidates who are relocating for the summer internship opportunity are eligible for round-trip airline/train travel and mileage reimbursement to and from your internship location and company-provided housing for the duration of the summer internship program in accordance with the company’s relocation policy.

Investment Strategy
As an Investment Strategy Analyst Intern, you will work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for the Investment Portfolio's success. We are here to help you both identify and continue to develop your future career goals and passions.
Description
The Investment Strategy Department focuses on total portfolio management of the approximately $300 billion General Account, $6 billion retirement plans, and $10 billion long term care portfolio. Areas of emphasis include: i) adjusting the tactical asset allocation weights across the General Account, ii) analyzing relative value opportunities across public and private markets, iii) researching and implementing private market investment opportunities within the $2 billion Absolute Return Portfolio, and iv) assisting the team with economic research initiatives.
The position will be located in the company’s corporate office in Milwaukee, WI.
Internship Roles and Responsibilities
Assist portfolio managers with multi-asset class research and development of relative value initiatives;
Conduct investment research and reporting on private market investment opportunities;
Support the composite portfolio management process;
Participate in market discussions with various departments across Northwestern Mutual; and
Partner with other members of the Investment Strategy Department to complete ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
Undergraduate student at a leading University with a concentration in Finance, Investments and Economics
Superior oral and written communication skills;
Passion to learn and immerse themselves in the capital markets; and
Desire to be challenged.
