The future starts here! Ready to join NXP?
Become part of the Product Diagnostics and Quality Centre of NXP. Our lab is a state-of-the-art silicon debug lab that supports new product introductions for all NXP product design teams. We cover digital and mixed-signal process technologies down to 5nm. We have a cutting edge tool set that focuses on electrical fault isolation and localization, and on physical fault localization. Our engineers are able to pin down any fault (due to manufacturing, design or the combination of the two) in any chip in any technology!
Your Team
The Electrical Failure Analysis team plays a critical role in identifying, isolating, and resolving electrical faults in semiconductor devices. Their work spans across product development, qualification, yield enhancement, and customer complaint resolution. They collaborate closely with Design, Test, Product, and Quality Engineering teams. Key steps in the process of failure analysis are electrical verification of the faulty behavior of a chip through product specific test sequences, analyze signal behaviors, use dedicated fault localization techniques like PEM (Photo Emission Microscopy), OBIRCH (Optical Beam Induced Resistance Change), LVP (Laser Voltage Probing), SDL (Soft Defect Localization) and nanoprobing. Your objective is to evaluate whether the laser used in these techniques affects the electrical behavior or physical integrity of elementary devices from C16FF & C22FDX process technologies. Based on the findings, recommendations can be developed for optimizing laser scanner parameters to improve fault localization accuracy and ensure reliable interpretation of laser assisted techniques results on C16FF, C22FDX and future technology nodes.
Your Responsibilities
The assignment is part of a larger scaled project. Responsibilities are :
Literature study (IEEE, International conferences…)
Designing and executing Design Of Experiments (DOE)
Collecting raw data measurements from laser experiments
Data analysis and laser mapping interpretation
What’s in it for you
A great opportunity to develop your skills (technical, soft skills, communication, etc.)
Work in an enthusiastic and international engineering team
Work with our industry experts including our technical staff
Gain experience in a multinational and diverse environment
Possibility to become part of NXP’s Young Professional Talent Pool
Working on real assignments which contribute to NXP’s objectives
Your Profile
Master of Science – Physics, last year of engineer school
Knowledge on optics and lasers would be highly appreciated
Knowledge on or affinity with semiconductor industry
Proven team player and strong communication skills
Action oriented, hands on / can do - will do mentality
Analytical, explorative, open minded, focus on problem solving
Good level of English is required (attendance to meetings / presentations with international team, reading and writing of documentation)
Project planning or action list planning is highly appreciated
Duration
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment could also be suitable as a thesis/graduation project. Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student assignment, you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
