Pratt & Whitney Auto Air (PWAA) has multiple sites across Lansing and Holt, MI. PWAA is looking for a manufacturing engineer at the Holt, MI facility (Plant 5) to assist in day-to-day operations, focused on lean values, automation, continuous improvement, manufacturing standard work and root cause corrective action. Typical duties include troubleshooting equipment, analyzing data, writing work instructions, and supporting investigation. PWAA strives to be best in class and a center of excellence in airfoils and composite bonding.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with manufacturing engineers to plan sequences of operations, to estimate time required and learn how to write process sheets and bill of materials.
  • Work with Engineering to understand part drawings and other engineering data necessary to define the fabrication and manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Consult with design or projects engineering to determine the suitability or producibility of molds, fixtures, or parts.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Enrolled in a degree program studying Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Material Science or related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0  

  • Basic knowledge of drawings and 3D models
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaisen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (ACE, 6s, etc.).

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
