SUMMARY:
Intern, Quality Assurance, Santan Food Services Sdn Bhd, focusing on Halal certifications and Quality Assurance matters for Santan catering, cafeterias and inflight meals
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
Halal Certification Application for Red Q Cafeteria
Observe and provide reports to the importance of food safety in the supply chain, including regulations and best practices
Gain knowledge of corrective actions and compliance strategies for audit findings
Observe and provide recommendations (where necessary/when requested by the superior)on the food safety protocols and procedures on the supply chain
Involve in food tasting for Santan RTE meals (Santan X ZUS RTE / Santan X 5 Senses/ Santan X Mesra Petronas/ KLIA2 Retail and give feedback)
Monitor and analyze the food safety and quality compliance of RTE Meals
Review and record the quality performance of RTE Meals
Analyse and interpret inflight meal performance captured in the monthly NPS
Assist in reviewing supplier’s product specification according to Santan latest template and complying with the latest MOH/FSQ requirement
Assist in reviewing labeling for inflight and RTE meals complying with the latest MOH/FSQ requirement
WHO YOU ARE:
Posses at least Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/ Food Biotechnology/ Food Technology/ Halal Industry Management
Able to work collaboratively within the organization
Good communication skills and etiquette
Knowledge of Halal, HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Good personality, positive mindset and independent
Having strong interest in Food & Beverages industry
Willing to travel and possess own transport

Based on your performance and contribution in this role, you’ll grow into becoming a meticulous food technologist and quality assurance expert. In this role, you’ll be the focal person to:
Develop, implement, communicate, improve and maintain the company’s Food Safety Management System and Policies that serve as guidelines for others AOCs implementation.
Establish Food Safety and Quality requirements for food product specification with proper assessment to ensure product compliance to regulatory requirements and safe to go live.
Ensure internal and external parties (supplier & warehouse) meet food safety requirements and to maintain or improve product quality and consistency.
Liaise with auditor/inspector/officer and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with any audit findings or regulations.
Coordinate the product laboratory testing, onboard test, equipment calibration and other periodic testing by the quarantine department.
Coordinate SANTAN product & restaurant halal certification.
Ensure halal compliances of all AOCs inflight and SANTAN restaurant through certification tracking and audit verification.
Monitor the overall quality chain compliances at supplier, warehouse, distribution, cafe as well as crew handling in all SANTAN business units (inflight & restaurant) with audit & inspection plan.
