Your mission:

An internship opportunity titled : « Sustainable foils for surface protection and Hazardous substance methodology» has just opened at Airbus India Pvt Ltd located in Bangalore. You will join the Structures department.


 

Ideally, this is a 6 month internship and it should start in Jan 2026 (date subject to flexibility).



 

Your main missions will consist of :

Part A

Literature search on sustainable foils for surface protection, including environmental assessment, PFAS & VOC emission quantification for temporary protection foils (Project initiated by R&T), drive Green Innovation (finding material alternatives) and directly contribute to waste and emissions reduction.

main missions will consist of :

  • Literature search on sustainable temporary protection foils, used in different industries and supplier landscape in India

  • Search on new calculation method including comparing cost, performance and sustainability criterias

  • Deep dive on PFAS, VoC quantification / identification

  • Research on cost effective recycling methodologies for adhesive based polymer foils

● Find innovative and creative solutions to make eco-design concrete and understandable for all involved colleagues of plastic waste



 

Part B

Derivation of  Methodology” between Hazardous substance analysis M1027 and Human Toxicity Impact Category M1067 (From LCA Analysis)

  • Understand the LCA process and Hazardous substance categorization/Classification 

  • Study the Env. regulation applicable to Aviation and followed by Airbus 

  • Explore the scientific data used in the environment regulations

  • Working LCI (Life cycle inventory), Method, Hot identification etc. GABI results and various LCA Methods/way of reporting 

  • Assessing and modelling the Human impact EHS indicator and Env regulations standards 

  • Derive the computation method to develop the overall impact - Human Toxicity by integrating Hazardous substance analysis and Human Toxicity-LCA


 

Your tutor will support you identify your professional objectives and develop your skills

This internship will allow you to develop the following skills:

● EHS in Aircraft materials and process

● Global hazardous material regulations and methodologies

● Sustainable polymer materials.

Expected academic background: Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
