The System Innovation team focuses on innovation projects with national and international partners from industry and academia. The team is looking for a trainee that support our work on diverse state-of-the-art topics in the area of Communication Networks and Embedded systems for industrial automation use cases and robotics.
Tasks:
The results of our projects are showcased as industrial white-papers, research papers and system demonstrators that combine the latest security and communication technology. A demonstrator typically consists of NXPs embedded microcontrollers/microprocessors that are combined with NXPs Security ICs, wired/wireless communication links and a PC/Smartphone-based GUI application to deliver messages sent from the demonstrator.
You will be involved in several development and deployment steps:
- Research, and analysis of equipment manuals, as well as technical specifications and standards for industrial real-time wireless communication networks.
- Definition of the demonstrator concepts & system architecture
- Configuration and evaluation of HW & SW demo components (embedded systems)
- Integration of developed concepts into the system solution (HW & SW)
- Support in System bringing-up and configuration.Network HW and SW Setting-up support.
- Extension of contract or conversion into thesis topics later is possible.
Requirements:
- Student of a Master course in Engineering/Information Technology or Bachelor students in 5th/6th semester with background in the research areas.
- Internship module must be mandatory in the study program.
- Interest or experience in the areas of networks, robotics or distributed-systems.
- Knowledge on Linux, embedded software implementation, or GUI programming would be advantageous.
- Knowledge on network models is beneficial.
- Pro-active, ability to work independently, creative and innovative mindset, and good team player.
