Our Mission
 

Design of satellites involves several disciplines. To harmonize the communication between those, Airbus defined a hierarchical structure implemented into databases where all information is exchanged using strictly defined interfaces and processes. One of the involved subjects is Harness engineering, using a dedicated database application.
 

The department which this internship is assigned to is in charge of engineering and verification of electrical systems of satellites for Earth Observation, Navigation and Science. The department supports all satellite projects in southern Germany. This support includes the fields of electrical Interfaces, RF communications, Electromagnetic Cleanliness, Electrical Power and Data Processing. It also provides a broad spectrum of services in the field of analysis and test.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Existing and partially automated test setups shall be upgraded and extended

  • Correct function and performance shall be verified by reference tests. 

  • Test equipment, computer and software shall be functionally integrated. This includes adaptation of existing test scripts. 

  • Tasks will be performed in close collaboration with experienced engineers and will partially be utilized in running projects.

  • The implementation shall be done in LabView, Visual Basic and MatLab.

 

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full time student (d/f/m) within electrical engineering, aerospace technology, physics or similar fields of study

  • Basic knowledge in LabView, MatLab, Visual Basic or programming languages are mandatory

  • Microsoft Office or Google Suites would be a plus

  • German and English fluent

  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
