Insurance Manager

We are looking for an Insurance Manager to join our Corporate Insurance and Risk Management (CIRM) team within Group Treasury. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing GSK’s insurance programmes in North America, to lead the insurance workstream for future Merger & Acquisitions (M&A) activity as well as other key and strategic insurance programmes for the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of US and Canada insurance programmes, including workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability. Manage claims, policy placements, renewals, and ensure compliance with regional regulations.
  • Oversee the performance and delivery of the US Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and US Legal advisors working closely with other GSK internal stakeholders to ensure services meet the needs of the business.
  • Conduct the insurance due diligence process for mergers and acquisitions, assessing coverage gaps, integrating policies, and overseeing the placement of any Representations & Warranties insurance.
  • Support the delivery of the Captive’s Multi-Year Multi-Line insurance programmes to include ensuring all reporting obligations are met.
  • Lead the Employment Practices Liability (EPL) insurance renewal process, coordinating internal stakeholders and brokers to adhere to agreed strategies and timelines.
  • Oversee GSK’s motor insurance programmes globally, ensuring coverage aligns with corporate standards and regional requirements, and support driver safety and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Deliver insurance cross charges for UK and US businesses.
  • Ensure governance, operational delivery, and compliance across all programmes, including policy issuance, premium payments, vendor contract management, and Third-Party Risk Management adherence.

You will bring a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to the role. You’ll be adept at managing complex insurance programmes in a fast-paced, global environment, and demonstrate a proactive approach to solving problems and driving improvement.

Basic Qualifications
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Professional Insurance Qualification or significant experience in a corporate insurance role, insurer, or insurance broker.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex insurance programmes for a global business, with a focus on articulating exposures and delivering effective solutions.
  • Excellent project management, communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across teams and functions.
  • Commercial negotiation skills to effectively manage vendor contracts and insurer relationships.
  • Analytical skills to assess claims, risks, and insurance programme performance.

Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Commerce degree with professional insurance qualification or equivalent experience.
