GSK’s centralised approach to insurance and loss prevention programmes ensures that we effectively manage risks across our global operations. As an Insurance Manager in the Corporate Insurance and Risk Management (CIRM) team within Group Treasury, you will take operational ownership of key insurance programmes, loss prevention initiatives, and governance processes. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Insurance and Risk Management, you will work collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders to deliver insurance strategies that secure GSK’s interests.

Key Responsibilities
As the Insurance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Directors and Officers (D&O) Insurance: Lead the execution and administration of GSK’s D&O insurance strategy, including policy renewal, claims management, and coordination with brokers, insurers, and Legal teams.
  • Pension Trustee Liability (PTL): Manage the PTL programme renewal by engaging with internal stakeholders, gathering relevant data, and driving adherence to strategy and timelines.
  • Employer’s Liability Insurance (EL): Oversee the UK and Ireland EL insurance programme, including policy placement, renewals, claims advice, and insurer relationships.
  • Business Travel Insurance: Administer GSK’s Business Travel insurance programme by working closely with internal Travel and Security teams and external brokers.
  • Sports and Social Clubs: Ensure adequate liability coverage for the sports and social programme, supporting both employees and external participants.
  • Credit Insurance: Manage GSK’s credit insurance programme, including policy placement, risk analysis, claims, and financial reporting, while liaising with the finance team to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Governance, Operations, and Compliance: Ensure operational delivery across your programmes, including policy issuance, premium payments, vendor contract management, and adherence to compliance requirements.

About You
You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in managing complex insurance programmes within global organisations. You possess excellent communication, project management, negotiation, and analytical skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to safeguarding the company’s interests while fostering relationships with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Professional Insurance Qualification or equivalent experience in an insurer, insurance broker, or corporate insurance role.
  • Working knowledge of D&O, PTL, and EL insurance programmes.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex insurance programmes for a global business, with a focus on articulating exposures and delivering effective solutions.
  • Excellent project management, communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across teams and functions.
  • Commercial negotiation skills to effectively manage vendor contracts and insurer relationships.
  • Analytical skills to assess claims, risks, and insurance programme performance.

Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience in the placement and management of global insurance programmes.
  • Legal background (beneficial but not essential).
