We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

Air Liquide is Hiring for a Lead I&E Technician in Pasadena, TX!

The Instrumentation and Electrical Leadman will be responsible for supervising and coordination the IE team onsite and Channelview/Laporte locations. This role ensures that all tasks related to installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems >480V are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. The leadman will also provide guidance and support to the team members, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols . The lead man will also QC that all PMs completed and information needed to be captured is properly placed into AL CMMS systems (Maximo) and that they are performed properly prior to the due dates.

Job Responsibilities:

* Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of I&E technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
* Develop, implement, and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation, control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA), and electrical distribution equipment.
* Diagnose complex electrical and instrumentation issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
* Manage and prioritize I&E work orders, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion of tasks.
* Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams on new installations, upgrades, and modifications to I&E systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
* Oversee calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of a wide range of process instrumentation, including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and safety interlocks.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, NFPA).
* Manage I&E spare parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships.
* Develop and deliver training to I&E technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
* Participate in incident investigations and provide technical expertise for resolution and prevention.
* Prepare and manage I&E maintenance budgets and control expenditures.

Are you a MATCH?

*High school diploma or GED required.

* 8+ years of progressive experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment (e.g., chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation).
* 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing I&E technicians.
* Strong knowledge of industrial control systems including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, Emerson).

* Extensive experience with various types of process instrumentation, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and analytical devices.
* Solid understanding of electrical power distribution systems, motor control, and variable frequency drives.

Preferred Experience:
* Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and control narratives.
* Familiarity with relevant safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) and hazardous area classifications.
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
* Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software.
* Ability to work in a challenging industrial environment and respond to emergency situations.
* Professional certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Control Systems Technician - CCST, Master Electrician) are a plus.
