Experience in instructional design, faculty support, and technology-enhanced learning preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description: Instructional Design Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Instructional Design Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting the development and implementation of instructional design strategies and professional development programs at Hinds Community College. This position enhances teaching and learning by facilitating faculty training, providing instructional consultation, and ensuring the quality and consistency of courses across all modalities. The Coordinator collaborates with faculty, staff, and departments to align instructional practices with the college’s mission and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement instructional design strategies that align with the college’s mission and goals. Stay current with best practices and trends in instructional design and technology-enhanced learning.

Educational Development:

Facilitate and coordinate professional development programs and workshops for faculty, leading initiatives to improve instructional quality and effectiveness across all modalities.

Instructional Design Management:

Lead the design and assessment of courses across all modalities. Implement Quality Matters standards and oversee faculty consultations, program reviews, and course quality improvements.

Technology Integration:

Plan, develop, and implement workshops and initiatives that enhance faculty use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other instructional technologies. Collaborate with the Instructional Technology team to support innovation and effective technology integration across all modalities.

Quality Assurance and Evaluation:

Oversee course evaluations and program review processes to ensure institutional quality standards are met. Analyze course and training data to identify areas for continuous improvement.

Team Development and Support:

Coordinate and support instructional design staff. Collaborate with instructional technology team members to align initiatives, share resources, and promote effective instructional practices. Facilitate learning communities and provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to faculty and colleagues.

Budget and Resource Management:

Assist in managing budgets and resources for instructional design and professional development initiatives.

Professional Development, Training, and Support:

Design, deliver, and facilitate professional development programs focused on instructional design, pedagogy, and effective teaching across multiple modalities. Integrate instructional technology into training initiatives and mentor faculty in course design and innovative instructional practices.

Other Duties:

Represent Hinds Community College at MSVCC meetings and institutional committees related to instructional design. Travel between campuses as needed to support instructional design and training needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Instructional Design and Technology or the Vice President of Planning, Effectiveness, and Technology.
