Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $59,700.00 - $89,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Supervisor is responsible for the effective leadership and supervision of the field inspector group for a designated area/region.  The Supervisor will ensure inspections performed within its area meet quality, organizational development, safety, operational excellence, cost and productivity objectives. In doing so, he/she will among other things, assist and support in operational matters; monitor, train and coach employee productivity; be charged with coordinating workflow amongst multiple locations within the area, and interact with clients’ management personnel at those facilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for managing the designated Field Inspector workforce to obtain department goals and objectives.

  • Coordinate inspection requests with managing the workflow of the Field Inspectors and creating schedules. This may at times require the role, as needed, to assist with the performance/completion of assigned inspections.

  • Observe all work performance of all direct reports to identify areas that need improvement by coaching or training.

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with sales and field partners.

  • Onboard, Plan and Coordinate all skill-based and inspection-focused training for direct reports (CAFS app, Salesforce, eLearning, field training, etc.).

  • Complete arbitration and inspection audits, as well as performance assessments, to identify training and improvement opportunities for all direct reports.

  • Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching through ride along with direct reports to provide real time training and support.

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and client demonstrations with Field inspectors when necessary to establish new clients and or for training opportunities.

  • Review work volumes and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement. 

  • Clearly communicate responsibilities and expectations to all direct reports, schedule time off, document attendance, and ensure that employees meet performance objectives for both quality and quantity of work.

  • Become a knowledgeable in Cox Automotive policies, processes, and products to provide accurate information, both to your direct reports and peers within the team.

  • Ensure all direct reports follow company and customer policies, procedures, and processes.  

  • Provide motivation, feedback, coaching, and guidance to all direct reports.

  • Procure, distribute, and track equipment inventory.

  • Participate in weekly team meetings and coordinate regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.   

  • Conduct regular performance reviews for all direct reports and share feedback with Manager.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

  • A high school diploma/GED and 5+ years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

  • Experience with Manheim Inspections preferred

  • Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience a plus.

  • Technical and computer proficiency preferred

  • Self-motivated and can motivate others.

  • Excellent organizational skills, customer-focused, proactive, and team-oriented.

  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems.

  • Displays a general understanding of frame and body repairs and mechanical knowledge.

  • Safe drivers are needed; a valid driver’s license is required

  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to work with remote supervision, and to supervise remote employees.

  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.

  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.

  • Vbility to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.  Ability to bend, stoop, squat, or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period; ability to lift up to 30lbs.

  • Exposure to moderate noise level, may be exposed to fumes and odors.

  • Work Conditions:  Regular exposure to outside environmental conditions.

  • Travel Requirements: 100% of travel required.
