Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, is looking for an Inside Sales Representative. This position will have various day to day tasks. A few of the responsibilities in this position will be generating new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, and driving sales at our disposal and recycling services.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, a strong understanding of customer needs, and the ability to manage and grow a sales pipeline. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, and a customer-first mentality.
The schedule for this position will be Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm. With a 1-hour lunch. The pay for this position will be $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, DOE. There will also be a capped commission to go along with this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Growth: Prospect and generate new sales leads through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels.
- Account Management: Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention by addressing any concerns or service-related issues.
- Brokerage Responsibilities: Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to facilitate solutions and ensure the best possible pricing and service offerings for clients.
- Client Engagement: Establish rapport with clients to understand their waste and recycling needs, provide tailored service options, and close sales.
- Market Knowledge: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and new product offerings in the waste disposal market.
- Negotiation & Pricing: Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining company profitability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with outside sales while they are out with customers along with other departments (e.g., operations, logistics) to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline progress, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
- Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner, providing top-tier support and service.
Qualifications:
- 2+ year of inside sales, account management, or broker experience, preferably in waste management, recycling, or related industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed in a sales environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the waste management or environmental services sector is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
