Job Description:

  • This is a casual position supporting all inpatient psychiatry units within the Allina Health system with an on-site presence being preferred. Locations include: Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis), United Hospital (St. Paul and Hastings), Unity Hospital (Fridley), plus New Ulm Medical Center and Owatonna Hospital, both part of Allina Health.

  • Responsibilities included: covering patient beds, rounding, admissions/discharges and responding to pages until 5pm. 

  • You will see 10-12 patient per day during the week

  • Weekday shifts M-F 8a-5pm with highly flexible scheduling. Able to pick up weekday and weekend work as able.

  • Compensation is paid as an hourly rate and Epic is the EMR used.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine

  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training


Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required and board certified in Psychiatry within two years of hire upon hire

  • ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire

  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required

  • Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required

  • National Provider Identifier upon hire required


Physical Demands

  • Medium Work*:

  • Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $328,400 to $339,000 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
