Sentara is hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Marth Jefferson Hospital
$5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates!
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)
Shift: Rotating/ Primary Days*
Hours: 6am-3pm* (occasional evening and overnight coverage)
Weekends: Every 3rd Weekend
Holiday Rotation
*Hours will primarily be day shift between 6am and 3pm but may require availability in the evening or overnight hours to meet pharmacy staffing needs.
The Inpatient Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification/Licensure
Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
Experience
Prior Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
