The Inland First Mile agent is responsible of the day-to-day execution of our inland operations as per plan agreed with IFM manager and SOM agent and our promise to customer. Incumbent is primarily responsible to drive safe, efficient and cost conscious daily inland executions, assisting to streamline our landside transportation processes and managing relationship with inland transport vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribution to Profit & Loss

  • No loss-making/cost conscious executions as per SOM allocations

  • Market intelligence on fluctuations of transport rates

  • Suggestions for inland operations processes improvement & optimization

Operational excellence

  • Adherence to vendors prioritization matrix issued by PROC/SOM

  • Inland executions follow up, updates and reporting on daily basis

  • Daily inland executions’ system updates (TrakIT/TMS)

  • Vendors’ executions follow up, including deliveries and empty containers’ return

  • Inland executions’ issue resolution handling with vendors and in Case Management

  • Attribution of responsibility for generated D&D and their processing (waiver or recovery)

  • Empty containers positioning as per E&E request.


Accountable for:

  • On time delivery for landside transportation

  • Inland Variable Cost

  • Customer satisfaction for inland transportation

  • S&R for inland transportation activities

Primary internal stakeholders

  • Customer Experience Team

  • Supplier Operations Management team

  • Sales team for their controlled customers

Primary external stakeholders

  • Inland transportation vendors

  • Terminals and depots

  • CHB vendors

Someone with:

  • Congo inland transport market knowledge

  • Strong skills for concise and precise reporting of activities

  • Stakeholder management & collaboration in a matrix organization

  • Commercial mindset

  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
