  • We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage.

Position Highlights

The Deschutes County Circuit Court in Bend, Oregon, is hiring an Information Technology Specialist.

In this role, you will provide technical support and problem resolution for multiple systems for the court. Analyze system performance and resource usage. Troubleshoot digital audio recordings, faxes, voicemails, and communication problems and provide solutions for the problems.

You will deliver, place, inventory, and upgrade a variety of computer equipment and communication devices. Along with these duties, you will diagnose and repair computer hardware and evaluate to determine if replacement of hardware is needed.

Developing, updating, and maintaining procedure manuals and quick reference guides will be part of your duties. These guides are for data entry procedures and application documentation. You will provide initial training to introduce the new procedures and/or applications. Develop and present a training program to familiarize PC users to the Windows NT environment and standard court applications.

Maintain a high level of customer support for staff, which includes providing documentation, training materials, and general assistance.

Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management, public administration, or a related field.

AND
Four (4) years of technical experience in the duties and infrastructure support required for the position.

OR

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to eight (8) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Requested Skills and Attributes

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting a wide variety of computer applications and processes: Windows 11, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams, Webex, and For the Record.   

  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting Windows-based computer hardware issues, to include installing computer components and other related equipment.

  • Experience managing highly complex projects that have broad scope and enterprise impact with multiple stakeholders and impact multiple systems.

  • Experience performing system and security administration duties, including network and applications, monitoring, vulnerability management, patch management, incident response, and disaster recovery.

  • Skill and experience in providing professional IT support services to others, of various skill levels, when introducing new procedures, applications, and operating systems.

  • Skill and experience maintaining, configuring, and updating complex audio/visual applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This is a full-time, on-site position, and the work schedule currently is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is FLSA-exempt and ineligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.

  • Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.

  • Long periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.

  • Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, and scanner.
