Job Description

In addition to Informatica Product expertise the ideal candidate would also have exposure to supporting newer cloud native platforms and be familiar with next generation application platforms such as Kubernetes and have skills or expect also evolve their skillset into an overall data platform operation engineer to support our future state data platform called UDAIP. Data and digital are critical to transform U.S. Bank business success. UDAIP is US Bank next generation cloud-based data and AI platform to enable data success cross business units within the company. At high level, UDAIP success includes industry leading hybrid cloud infrastructure, cutting edge data capabilities with leverage of many open-source technologies, successful migration of existing business critical data solution onto UDAIP, and ensure ultimate end user success cross the company. #LI-REMOTE

Responsibilities

  • Manage ETL Environments, Patches, Connections, Data Pipelines, Modeling, Processes, and support Testing activities, while maintaining and growing existing multi-technology integration capabilities.

  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting 24/7 operations.

  • Troubleshoot & Resolve ETL Job Failures related to platform

  • Install, upgrade, configure and maintain Informatica components including PowerCenter, DEI (Data Engineering Integration - formally known as Big Data Edition), HA grid, PowerExchange Change Data Capture (CDC) on Unix/Linux servers.

  • Recommend and implement the automation of different administration tasks via UNIX/Linux Shell scripts, command-line utilities or maps.

  • Coordinate with Informatica support for issue resolution, patches, and bug fixes.

  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure an effective operating environment. This includes throughput analysis, capacity planning, on-going optimization and tuning of Informatica objects and environment.

  • Understand complex Informatica maps, workflow, and session log, and participate in configuring and tuning of respective objects to meet the performance and recovery objectives.

  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to transform system requirements into environment specific ETL designs

  • Setting up LDAP and Users/ Groups Creation, Access Management (Privileges and Permissions)

  • Support disaster recovery testing and implement disaster recovery functions.

  • Coordinate with development and infrastructure groups to prepare and implement planned maintenance outages

  • Design and implement monitoring and alerting strategies to enforce application SLAs

  • Develop, test, and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure)

  • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems

  • Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions

  • Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience  

  • At least 5 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data. 

Preferred Skills/Experience 

  • Strong experience with PowerCenter, DEI (Data Engineering Integration - formally known as Big Data Edition), HA grid, PowerExchange Change Data Capture Publisher (CDC) on Unix/Linux servers.

  • Good to have background in scripting and programming languages including Terraform , Ansible (for creating and running playbooks), Groovy (Jenkins Pipeline), Python, Git. 

  • Good experience in end-to-end implementation of DW BI projects, especially in data warehouse and mart developments

  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL experience

  • Strong UNIX/Linux shell scripting experience (Korn, Bourne, GNU Bash)

  • Insightful background and experience about various modern bigdata technologies including but not limited to Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra, Presto, Druid

  • Familiarity with ELK, Prometheus, Open Telemetry, Jaeger, Graphite, or any other widely used observability tools.

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Service Mesh(Istio), Terraform, Ansible, Jenkin

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment (Git/GitHub, GitOps, CI/CD Pipelines

  • Excellent analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning and problem-solving skills are required

  • Agile experience and the ability to work on a cross functional, self-organizing development teams

  • Excellent technical documentation writing skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
