The Industry Engagement Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s Australian Industry Capability (AIC) plan, and all AIC plans for campaigns, pursuits and programs. As the focal point and lead architect for the development of all AIC plans, the

Industry Engagement Director will also closely support our programs and commercial teams in monitoring performance against approved plans.

The Industry Engagement Director will work closely with internal stakeholders to help develop strategies, requirements and resources. They will develop and foster relationships with suppliers, government departments and agencies, institutions, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the Australian Industry Capability strategy for the company.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Australian Industry Capability plans across all company campaigns, pursuits, and programs.
  • Architect and as required lead authoring plans, engage with internal stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are addressed in a manner that achieves competitive advantage for the company.
  • Supports the conduct of industry engagement activities (including tender processes) to identify opportunities for Australian industry to compete on merit for work, to develop Australian Industry Capability and export opportunities, and to select preferred providers to support campaign, pursuit, and program requirements.
  • Represents the company to develop and foster strong, collaborative relationships with Australian industry, academia, indigenous businesses, Defence, industry associations, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Execute targeted engagement with priority suppliers to support their development to improve competitiveness in local and export Defence opportunities. This includes working with partner organisations to assist with gap analysis and implementation of priorities to help professionalisation and organisational maturity initiatives.

Skills, Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Established networks within Australian industry and government.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Defence industry.
  • Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of Australian industry and government is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of strategic supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting customer requirements and meeting time critical deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Australian industry policy framework.
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
