Intelligent Government Transformation (iGT) Practice:
Governments around the world face several complex issues and are constantly challenged to deliver public services in the most efficient way within constrained resources. At PwC, we leverage our diverse human capital to solve important problems faced by society and governments. We have worked extensively with governments at both national and sub-national levels and have managed large programmes with a team of over 1,500 specialists for over 15 years. We also work closely with multilateral agencies like the Asian Development Bank, United Nations agencies, and the World Bank on their technical assistance programmes for government clients. Our teams have also engaged in projects supported by bilateral cooperation agencies such as JICA, GIZ, KfW, FCDO, and the Swiss Development Cooperation, among others.
Job Description:
The candidate would be part of the iGT Energy, Utilities & Resources practice of PwC India. Clients will include central ministries, state departments, public utilities, regulatory bodies, urban local bodies, and multilateral development banks (MDBs).
Focus Sector:
The focus sector for this role is Energy Efficiency in the Public Sector, covering: - National and state-level energy efficiency programs across buildings, industry, transport, and municipal services - Design and implementation support for demand-side management (DSM) and energy conservation schemes - Development of sectoral and cross-sectoral energy efficiency action plans - Formulation of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and regulatory frameworks - Energy performance contracting and ESCO-based program design - Financial and economic modelling for EE programs - Impact assessment and monitoring of EE interventions - Accessing funding from MDBs and climate finance mechanisms for EE projects
Responsibilities:
- Support policy formulation, regulatory design, and program implementation for energy efficiency initiatives
- Develop modelling and forecasting tools for energy savings potential and program impacts - Conduct techno-economic feasibility studies for EE projects in buildings, industry, and municipal sectors - Prepare national/state energy efficiency roadmaps and action plans - Design incentive schemes and bulk procurement programs for efficient technologies - Undertake monitoring, verification, and evaluation (MVE) of EE programs - Organize and facilitate stakeholder consultations and capacity-building workshops for public sector stakeholders
Business Development Activities:
- Build and maintain relationships with government clients, MDBs, and donor agencies - Identify and pursue opportunities in national/state energy efficiency programs - Lead proposal preparation, budgeting, and scoping of public sector assignments
Requirements:
- Prior consulting or advisory experience in public sector energy efficiency programs - Proven expertise in energy savings assessment, forecasting, and financial modelling - Knowledge of the Energy Conservation Act, BEE programs, and global best practices in energy efficiency - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills - Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel-based modelling; knowledge of simulation or analytical tools is an advantage - Willingness to travel and engage directly with public sector stakeholders - Self-driven with the ability to independently manage government-focused engagements
Location:
Base location is likely to be Delhi NCR/Mumbai/Bangalore, with travel to client sites as per project requirement
