Your role

We are seeking a Junior ICT Engineer to join our dynamic Software Support team in Lane Cove.


Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager and working closely with a talented team of Program Managers, Systems Engineers and ICT Security professionals, you’ll play a key role in supporting and maintaining ICT systems and infrastructure that enable critical operations for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Key responsibilities

  • Support deployment and maintenance of ICT systems and software for the ADF
  • Provide ICT Help Desk and on-site technical support services
  • Manage and administer hardware devices and mobile equipment
  • Install software and firmware patches; configure networks and firewalls
  • Support installation and management of virtual machines and SOE environments
  • Assist in training internal and external users on Collins systems and processes
  • Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of ICT procedures
  • Perform troubleshooting and automation through scripting or batch files
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to provide on-site ICT support

Skills and qualification

  • Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux/Android operating systems, network servers, and firewalls
  • Experience or interest in ICT administration and technical troubleshooting
  • Exposure to Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools (desirable)
  • Good understanding of standard operating environments and system configuration
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Collaborative team player with initiative and attention to detail
  • Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Australian Citizenship, already hold and ability to maintain Security Clearance (essential)
