Job Description

HR Generalist – Distribution Center

Location: Lyndhurst, NJ

Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office, 1 remote

Are you an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? Our Distribution Center is looking for a HR Generalist to support our growing workforce (Warehouse, Call Center and Support employees) and ensure smooth, efficient HR operations.

This role will have the full support of the NYC-based HRBP team and will work closely with the broader People & Culture organization - including HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards. What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues
  • Conduct new-hire orientation, new-hire check ins (30/90 day) and process departures (exit interviews)
  • Assist with employee relations, coaching, and performance management
  • Maintain HRIS data, employee files, attendance, and payroll changes – Workday experience preferred
  • Support recruiting - including creating job descriptions, interviewing and liaison with temp agencies
  • Support all events and engagement initiatives including managing event budgets and executing monthly events in office and annual offsite office party.
  • Lead communications for office-wide updates (early closure, upcoming holiday payroll reminders, parking updates, etc.)
  • Maintain annual compliance requirements, including updating mandatory labor law posters and ensuring all required notices are current and properly displayed.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal/state employment laws and company policies
  • Support workers’ compensation processes, incident reporting, and return-to-work coordination
  • Partner with leadership to improve retention, engagement, and workplace culture
  • Participate in HR projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of HR experience; distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing HR experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and HRIS systems – Workday preferred
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Spanish speaking preferred

Compensation: $80,000-$90,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
