JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

As the Human Resource Assistant, you will provide administrative support to ensure the Teammate Services Operations department runs efficiently. This role is responsible for carrying out a variety of administrative tasks and services that help maintain smooth daily operations and support the overall goals of The Oncology Institute’s Teammate Services Operations team.

The position will sit in our Cerritos, CA Corporate office, and is currently 3 days per week in-office with Mondays mandatory, 2 days per week are remote, based on performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Live and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.
  • Creates and maintains personnel files and other human resources records.
  • Enters and updates employee information in Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Lead the new-hire on-boarding process including running the orientation meeting, initiating hiring in HRIS, preparing new employee log-in documentation, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and filed.
  • Coordinates employee termination procedures and ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and filed.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from teammates relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Steps in to provide support when others are unavailable.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Takes on additional duties and special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • 0-1 years of HR experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
