Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Business Partner - Manager is responsible for formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to leadership, management and employees that reflects the business objectives and strategic initiatives of the System.  This individual provides consultation, facilitation and resolution strategies for workplace issues.  The HR Business Partner - Manager is responsible for managing HR functions such as:  discrimination claims, restructures, furloughs/reduction in workforce, policy management, investigations, regulatory compliance, engagement, employee relations, discipline, compensation, training, equal employee/affirmation action, personnel records management, and performance management in accordance with HR system-wide protocols and procedures.  This individual represents Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) before state and federal agencies with respect to employee relations matters, and partners with MCHS’s Corporate Compliance and Legal Services department.  This individual strives for consistency throughout the System in addressing employee relations while supporting MCHS’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required:  Demonstrated ability to prioritize rapidly, strong problem-solving skills; excellent decision making/analysis skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; change management. Demonstrated leadership ability in addition to one of the following:

  • Master’s degree and three year’s relevant human resources experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility in a wide range of HR areas including, compensation practices, employee relations issues, federal and State employment laws and performance management. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field and five year’s relevant human resources experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility in a wide range of HR areas including, compensation practices, employee relations issues, federal and State employment laws and performance management. 
  • Associates’ degree in Human Resource Management or related field and seven years relevant human resources experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility in a wide range of HR areas including, compensation practices, employee relations issues, federal and State employment laws and performance management.
  • Nine years relevant human resources experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility in a wide range of HR areas including, compensation practices, employee relations issues, federal and State employment laws and performance management.  

Preferred/Optional: Relevant health care industry experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: SPHR/PHR certification.
