Our HPC Presales Engineer:
- Provides technical expertise to Intel sales teams, external partners, and end customers.
- Acts as a key advisor and thought leader to the technical sales teams, while driving vision, value, and strategy around technical solutions.
- Understands the business use case and technical merits of a solution, co-owns relationships with customer/partner decision makers to solve complex challenges across system(s) and influences the customers purchasing decision for specific accounts.
- Supports Intel sales professionals, including those in technical sales roles, in design and deal win engagements by delivering Intel platform and portfolio value propositions and providing ongoing technical support on product briefings.
- Understands competitive landscape to deliver use case based benchmarks and drive customer driven technical incubations.
- Supports customer design win needs and facilitates product and program updates.
- Liaises with BUs to relay roadmap, product, program and technical updates to field sales and external partner teams.
- Plans and implements training roadmap, assets, schedule, availability, and delivery.
- Articulates the voice of customer back to product development teams to help define platform enabling, roadmap, program, samples, and other enabling requirements.

Specifically, this position is a HPC Presales Engineer role aligned to the Business Unit Sales head. Responsible for:
- Advising and influencing end-user customers, ISVs, OEMs, partners and scale engines.
- Responsible for understanding the business use case and technical merits of a HPC solution and co-owning relationships with customer and partner decision-makers to influence the customers purchasing decision.
- Works with all audiences to accelerate the adoption of Intel-based platforms and document gaps, providing feedback to solution stakeholders including vertical and horizontal business leaders and partners, OEMs, system integrators, solution integrators, solution providers, and ISVs and service providers.
- Daily activities will include providing direct technical assistance to customers and partners, interfacing with Sr. technical decision makers for Line of Business and Operational Technology Groups and representing customer market segment requirements back into the business unit for future product planning.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position:
- MSc degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline, a PhD is a strong plus
- Sufficient experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or analytics system architectures (parallel clusters, grid computing, data analytics, bare-metal clouds)
- Deep technical understanding of HPC and data analytics/AI market domain for both HW and SW
- Hands on experience of architecting or designing Top500 class HPC systems
- Hands on experience of porting applications to supercomputers, including MPI, OpenMP, offloading to accelerators
- Strong communication skills to build a rapport and communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and disciplined, good team player
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
- Proven experience with AI (infrastructure, LLM, GenAI, CUDA, PyTorch, …) is a big plus;
- In-depth knowledge of many-core processor architectures, Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX), Intel software tools (MKL, MPI, TBB, Intel Compilers, VTune, etc.);
- Experience in planning and execution of software projects, as well as in software testing, benchmarking, analyzing, and optimizing is a strong plus;
- A desire to acquaint themselves with new domain sciences to help customers work on open research questions or novel algorithmic performance optimizations;
- Experience with heterogeneous GPU computing using SYCL, OpenMP Offload, OpenCL and CUDA is highly desired
