About the role
Deliver Molecular Pathology services across St Vincent’s Hospital, SydPath collection centres, and other major clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality results.
Perform laboratory testing operations reliably and in a timely manner, adhering to all quality and safety standards.
Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and supplies, supporting smooth and continuous diagnostic services.
Communicate critical and urgent results promptly to clinicians, ensuring timely patient care and informed clinical decisions.
Uphold patient confidentiality and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the laboratory Quality System.
About you
Holds relevant tertiary qualifications in a scientific field applicable to pathology practice, with hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, including PCR and next-generation sequencing.
Skilled in bioinformatics analysis and genetic variant curation, with a solid understanding of legislation, regulations, and guidelines for genomic and laboratory testing.
Flexible and reliable, willing to work shifts as rostered while performing tasks accurately, efficiently, and supporting other duties as required.
Communicates clearly and works collaboratively, contributing as a proactive and supportive member of a high-performing laboratory team.
Maintains high standards of quality and patient confidentiality, actively supporting the laboratory’s Quality System and continuous improvement initiatives.
