Position Details
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Combination of rounding and admitting)
•100% inpatient adult medicine

Experience Required
• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
• Nurse Practitioners: Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with ACNP or AGACNP board certification
• Physician Assistants: Certification by NCCPA; CAQ certification preferred
• Current North Carolina NP or PA license
• Current prescriptive authority and DEA license
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) valid at least 90 days beyond start date
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Job Summary
Specialty care APP's provide focused services on a single system, caring for both acute and chronically ill patients in the hospital setting. This role includes direct patient care, coordination with the multidisciplinary team, and participation in quality initiatives.

Essential Functions
• Perform medical history, physical examinations, and daily patient assessments
• Record findings, assessments, and treatment plans in the medical record
• Perform minor medical and/or surgical procedures as appropriate
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies
• Write prescriptions and administer medications
• Determine and implement treatment plans for inpatient care
• Serve as a patient and family advocate
• Participate in departmental meetings, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives
• Model Atrium Health’s Core Values and adhere to Medical Group minimum work standards

Physical Requirements
• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, and stooping

• Schedule may include occasional nights or holidays as required
