Job Description:

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday
Serving Ann Arbor to Canton

At Elara Caring, we believe care should start where patients feel safest and most comfortable—at home. Every day, our compassionate teams deliver exceptional therapy and support to more than 60,000 patients, empowering them to heal and thrive on their own terms.

Now we’re looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) who values flexibility, independence, and meaningful patient connections. If you’re ready to take your therapy career beyond the walls of a facility and into a role where you truly make a difference—this is it.

💙 Why You’ll Love This Role

This isn’t your typical 9-to-5 clinical job. As part of the Elara Caring family, you’ll enjoy the freedom to manage your day, the support of a collaborative team, and the reward of seeing real progress—one home visit at a time.

Why Choose Elara?

  • Flexibility & Independence: Plan your own schedule and deliver care where patients live best—at home.

  • Supportive Team Culture: You’ll never feel alone in the field—our therapists, nurses, and care coordinators work hand in hand.

  • Competitive Pay & Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) with employer match.

  • Grow Your Career: Tuition reimbursement for full-time staff and continuing education for all employees at no cost.

  • Room to Advance: We promote from within and support your professional growth at every step.

  • Extra Perks: Paid time off, holidays, family and pet bereavement, and even pet insurance—because family comes in all forms.

What You’ll Do

As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life—all while enjoying the personal connection and autonomy that make home health so fulfilling.

You will:

  • Carry out individualized care plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Provide one-on-one treatment, assess progress, and adapt exercises to fit patient needs.

  • Educate and empower patients and caregivers for continued success between visits.

  • Communicate closely with OTs, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless, coordinated care.

  • Document care accurately and maintain compliance with all regulations.

  • Help patients stay safely at home and avoid unnecessary hospital visits through proactive, compassionate care.

What You Bring

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Current, unrestricted COTA license in the state of practice.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a clinical care setting preferred.

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

  • Ability to travel within assigned area (Ann Arbor to Canton).

  • Physical ability to assist with transfers and mobility (lifting up to 50–100 lbs).
