The Position

The Health Outcomes Partner team plays a critical role in ensuring optimal patient access to our innovative medicines in the UK. We are a highly collaborative team, deeply focused on generating the robust, real-world evidence (RWE) needed to successfully navigate the UK's reimbursement landscape. Join us on this exciting, 15-month fixed-term contract, where your work will directly impact patient lives.

Successful individuals in this role are expected to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, possessing a strong technical understanding and skillset of health economic and real world evidence research and application, with exceptional attention to detail. They have a passion for creating high-quality deliverables which support in critically evaluating and demonstrating the value of our medicines to national and sub-national payers and related stakeholders. They will actively engage in all stages of access evidence development, including early exploration of pipeline plans to identify evidence gaps; economic model review and assessment of value drivers; real world evidence study design and implementation; and effective communication of findings internally and externally. They will proactively develop their project management, leadership, and strategic thinking capabilities to identify creative opportunities and solutions to challenges presented. Individuals will demonstrate thought leadership by publishing their work, and feeding in to external consultations of relevance.

The Opportunity


Evidence Generation:

  • Understands evidence needs across the product lifecycle, ranging from early pipeline to UK reimbursement/launch and post-launch uptake phases.

  • Critically appraises clinical trial designs and anticipated evidence delivery plans to identify evidence gaps specific for the UK and develop appropriate evidence generation solutions for access.

  • Utilises health economic models to identify value drivers of decision making to identify appropriate evidence generation solutions for access

  • Leads the execution of real-world evidence studies covering clinical, economic and humanistic (quality of life, utility/disutility, patient preference, costing) data.

  • Tailors outputs where appropriate and necessary to health economic value drivers.

  • Selects vendors based on a critical assessment of proposals (including scientific expertise and budget considerations), and oversees vendors in the execution of real-world studies.

Market Access, Collaboration & Communication:

  • Contributes to the overall access strategy to ensure optimal patient access following positive reimbursement decisions.

  • Develops strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve balanced, progressive, and commercially viable outcomes.

  • Takes a prominent role in cross-functional teams, ensuring access considerations are integral to brand strategy and tactics.

  • Strong stakeholder collaboration within affiliate, global and cross-affiliate to identify where evidence generation opportunities can be optimised and developed for broader impact


Knowledge Building:

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of UK reimbursement processes and evidence requirements.

  • Builds skills and capabilities in synthesising and generating real-world data.

Who you are

You are a strategic thinker and an accomplished expert in health economics and outcomes research, driven by the desire to secure patient access to life-changing treatments.

  • You hold a post-graduate degree in health economics, statistics, life sciences, or a related field.

  • You possess a detailed understanding of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) within the National Health Service (NHS) and the pharmaceutical industry, including the methods, processes, and timelines of UK reimbursement processes.

  • You have the proven ability to develop and execute payer evidence generation strategies for specific brands or above-brand projects.

  • You demonstrate strong stakeholder collaboration and are comfortable working at a strategic level within a cross-functional team, acting as a Catalyst and Architect in your approach.

  • The ability to design, implement, and manage payer evidence generation projects, including the effective selection and management of external vendors, is preferred.
