Role Summary

As the Head of RDT for the Diagnostics Commercial Division, you will serve as a pivotal executive leader and Strategic Business Partner to the Global Head of Digital Technology - Diagnostics. This executive role is accountable for driving the performance and elevating the results of a critical division, directly influencing and shaping the Diagnostics commercial function's strategy through technologya key enabler of our digital transformation.

Your core responsibility is to co-create and relentlessly drive the digital strategy for the commercial business, focusing on a proactive, technology-enabled approach to market access, sales acceleration, and global business expansion. You will execute long-term operational strategy to achieve key business objectives, translating complex commercial challenges into robust, compliant, and forward-looking technology solutions that differentiate the organization from the competition and drive measurable commercial success across diverse global markets.

The Opportunity:

The Head of RDT provides executive leadership and strategic direction through multiple levels of leaders, evaluating key business challenges and directing innovative, impact-driven solutions:

  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Defines and executes the comprehensive digital strategy for the Diagnostics commercial organization, ensuring digital and technology solutions are the primary drivers of market access, business expansion, and sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Portfolio and Investment Governance: Orchestrates strategic digital roadmaps and oversees seamless portfolio delivery. You will prioritize and direct initiatives that maximize commercial business impact, ensuring a seamless integration and adoption of the R&D diagnostics portfolio in the market.

  • Executive Partnership and Influence: Shapes strategic business partnerships by building deep, trusted relationships with global commercial affiliates. You will serve as an executive advisor who negotiates with and influences senior leaders, translating complex business challenges into actionable, technology-driven solutions.

  • Commercial Innovation Pioneer: Pioneers a technology-enabled commercial strategy that proactively identifies and assesses emerging technologies and market trends in the diagnostics space. You will direct the development of new, differentiating solutions, positioning the organization as a proactive innovator that anticipates and shapes future market demands.

  • Product Vision and Domain Leadership: Owns the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap for all critical platforms managed in the domain. You will represent these platforms at the executive management level and directly lead the Product Managers and Platform Success Managers, providing strategic direction to multiple sub-teams.

  • Financial and Operational Command: Oversees the financial, contractual, and operational health of the division. Your primary mission is to provide the operational insight that empowers Product and Engineering leaders to focus on their core responsibilities of strategy and execution, thereby maximizing the results of the entire function.

  • Global Team Leadership: Leads multiple large departments, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous innovation. Accountable for actively developing and mentoring the next generation of leaders to build a robust leadership pipeline across the globe.

Who you are:

Success in this executive position requires in-depth functional knowledge, commercial expertise, and the ability to influence strategy across the enterprise.

  • Required Education and Experience: Master's Degree required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in technology and commercial leadership roles within the diagnostics or life sciences industry.

  • Domain and Commercial Expertise: A unique and sophisticated understanding of both the diagnostics business and the strategic application of digital technology to accelerate commercial outcomes. Applies broad commercial expertise to differentiate the organization in global markets.

  • Operational Excellence: Proven track record of successfully managing mission-critical systems and orchestrating complex processes in a global commercial environment, with a commitment to seamless portfolio delivery and high-impact solution integration.

  • Strategic & Data Acumen: A visionary, forward-looking leader committed to continuous innovation and learning. You will use a strategic mindset and superior communication skills to articulate a compelling digital vision and align senior stakeholders globally.

  • Leadership & Talent Stewardship: Proven ability to actively develop and mentor the next generation of leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth to build a robust leadership pipeline.

  • Technical Architecture Leadership: Functions as a senior technical leader working across all platform teams, ensuring architectural coherence, driving major cross-domain technical initiatives, and providing technical mentorship to senior engineers.

  • Risk & Compliance Governance: A sophisticated understanding of global regulatory standards and governance frameworks related to commercial operations, ensuring strategies and solutions resonate across diverse markets with a focus on cross-cultural awareness and compliance.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is between $242,200 - $449,800.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
