The opportunity
As the Head of Communications & Government Relations Nordics, you will lead Hitachi’s communications and government relations strategy across the Nordics and Baltics, driving brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and policy influence while managing a high-performing team and shaping impact at the intersection of business, policy, and society.
How you'll make an impact
Lead all Communications and Government Relations activities across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and the Baltics, ensuring alignment with global CGR strategies and objectives.
Manage and develop a high-performing regional team, fostering collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Drive cohesive advocacy and engagement with policymakers and regulators.
Strengthen the Hitachi Energy brand across all channels, ensuring consistent positioning and relevance to regional stakeholders.
Develop and execute integrated communication strategies supporting business growth, reputation, and employee engagement.
Oversee planning and budgets for all CGR activities in the region.
Steer overall media relations, digital communications, events, executive visibility, crisis communications and internal communications for the region.
Act as a trusted advisor to the local management and leadership teams on strategic communication and public affairs matters.
Actively contribute to the evolution and refinement of the Hitachi Energy brand narrative as a member of the global CGR leadership team.
Ensure all activities comply with legal, policy, and ethical standards while safeguarding the company’s reputation.
Requirements
15+ years’ experience in communications, media relations, and/or government affairs, preferably in global matrix organizations.
Proven experience in strategic and operational planning with multitasking and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of communication methods and ability to tailor strategies by audience and region.
Digitally savvy and knowledgeable about social media and online reputation management.
Commercially aware, linking communications to business goals and market impact.
Relevant international experience: Nordic region and energy/technology sector background preferred.
Executive presence with experience advising senior leaders and influencing decisions.
Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders including government, business partners, and internal teams.
Fluent in English and Swedish; Finnish and Norwegian languages are a plus.
Up to 40% of the role requires travelling.
