What will you be doing?

As Group Leader RMR Engineering, you are leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (approx. 7 FTE). With this team, you are working towards the successful completion of RMR and Design Warranty projects in an international environment. You work closely together with the other Managers Engineering and Group Leaders Engineering within Domain Warehousing, to share best practices, knowledge, balance workload and resources.

You manage the progress of the projects and closely guard quality, lead time, costs and technical risks, taking action where necessary. You have a sharp technical conscience and are capable of overviewing 15+ RMR projects, while at the same time being able to zoom in on details if needed. You steer your engineers, and you are able to discuss all project issues with RMR Project Managers. When required, you are in direct contact with customers to solve issues and reach consensus.

You are the point of contact for our RMR Sales team for sales inquiries and hourly estimates. You support them in securing orders with focus on price, lead-time and technical risks. Furthermore, you have an eye for continuous improvement and opportunities with respect to cost/lead time reduction and increased efficiency.

In addition, the people in your project team have your special attention. You will be responsible for the development of individual employees and the specific skills of your team. You support, coach, facilitate and adjust when necessary. In this role, you are Engineering MT member reporting into the global Head of Engineering Warehousing.

Key responsibilities

  • Steer engineers who work on multiple parallel projects, lead by example.
  • Define the way of working in the team and review the planning of each project.
  • Manage project budgets, progress and risks & opportunities, report periodically on the status of these topics.
  • Define and implement improvements to improve quality, reduce costs and lead time and minimize technical risks.
  • Manage timely delivery of all engineering deliverables, including specifications, materials, documentation, training, and service take over.
  • Work closely together with RMR Project Managers and coordinate activities of the project team consisting of all engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure that health, safety and environment (HSE) plans and procedures are in place and followed.
  • Act as line manager for the members of your team.
  • Manage resource planning of your team and identify resource/competence needs to ensure a balanced multi-disciplinary team of project engineers, prepare timely for team growth based on sales forecasts.
  • Support the RMR sales with respect to cost, planning, technical risks and organize what is needed to be successful in selling RMR projects.
  • Focus on development of the individual members of the team and the team as a whole, HPC (High Performing Culture) is key.

What do we ask from you

  • You have a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • You are an experienced technical project leader, familiar with scope, planning, budget and R&O management.
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to liaise at different levels.
  • You are pragmatic and can balance quality, lead time, costs and technology.
  • You are pro-active and take initiative.
  • You are able to keep focus and get things done.
  • You are able to coach employees to get the best out of themselves.
  • You are fluent in English, Dutch is preferred.
  • You are flexible and creative.

Within Vanderlande, Domain Warehousing is active throughout the world. You are part of the global project execution organization, focusing on the engineering part. The Domain Warehousing consists of more than 1500 employees who work together to make sure systems are sold, engineered and executed at customer sites.

Next to that, we are dedicated to developing ourselves as a business partner for our customers to establish long term customer relationships. Strategically, Domain Warehousing plans to expand and grow the RMR business in our installed base.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4.700 to € 6.400 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance).
