Position Summary

General Atlantic is seeking a Graphic Designer to join its Marketing & Corporate Affairs team in New York. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping how General Atlantic’s brand and investment platform are visually expressed across materials used with clients, prospects, and partners.

While reporting into Marketing & Corporate Affairs, the designer will work closely with the Capital Solutions team, helping translate investment and business concepts into brand-consistent, visually compelling, and differentiated storytelling.

They bring an entrepreneurial mindset and a bias for action, approaching each project with ownership and precision.

Responsibilities

  • Bring ideas to life visually: Conceptualize and design materials across a wide range of formats, including pitchbooks, whitepapers, publications, infographics, social media assets, and event collateral
  • Translate complex concepts: Convert technical, financial, or strategic content into clear, visually engaging narratives that resonate with business and finance audiences
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner closely with Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Capital Solutions, and firm leadership to develop visuals that meet both brand standards and strategic communication goals
  • Drive creative ideation: Participate in brainstorming sessions with senior team members, offering fresh perspectives on how to visualize key messages
  • Balance creativity and execution: Design both custom creative materials and more templated deliverables, maintaining consistency across all brand expressions
  • Iterate and refine: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders at all levels, adapting designs quickly and thoughtfully
  • Manage projects efficiently: Handle multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality across deliverables
  • Maintain brand integrity: Uphold and evolve GA’s visual identity, and educate colleagues across the firm on creative best practices
  • Oversee production quality: Support production needs and advise/liaise with external partners or vendors as needed to ensure high-quality outputs across formats
  • Stay ahead of trends: Keep current with design best practices, tools, and technologies to continuously elevate the firm’s visual storytelling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience, ideally with exposure to the financial services or professional services sectors
  • Advanced fluency in InDesign and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex, visually refined PowerPoint materials
  • Strong portfolio in data visualization and infographics; demonstrating the ability to simplify and visualize complex, abstract, or data-heavy ideas
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to engage with peers and senior stakeholders to understand feedback and business goals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in an iterative, fast-moving environment and adapting design solutions through collaboration
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; AfterEffects or Premiere a plus), PowerPoint and Word, and Figma
  • Experience in agency or large in-house marketing environments preferred
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, experiment, and thoughtfully challenge convention
  • Global mindset and flexibility in communication style across cultures and audiences
