The Coordinator for the Louisiana State University Future Scholars (LSUFS) Graduate Program supports the development, implementation, and assessment of initiatives design to enhance the academic success, professional development, and community engagement of graduate students in the Future Scholars Program.
This role reports to the Director of Graduate Student Success and plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Future Scholars Program to recruit, retain, and graduate high-achieving scholars prepared for the Louisiana workforce. The Coordinator will manage day-to-day program operations, support graduate student engagement, and assist in coordinating communication, events, and data collection efforts that ensure a seamless and supportive excellence for all Graduate Future Scholars.
Job Responsibilities:
Programming and Implementation: 40%
• Coordinate and implement Graduate Future Scholars programming including workshops, seminars, and community-building events focused on academic success, career development, and well-being
• Support the Director in developing and executing the Graduate Future Scholars annual calendar of activities, including orientation, professional development sessions, and mentor check-ins
• Manage logistical details for events (scheduling, space reservations, catering, guest speakers, and materials)
• Collaborate with campus partners, faculty, and departments to enhance scholar engagement and ensure programming aligns with university priorities for graduate student success
• Develop and maintain program materials, communications, and resources for scholars and mentors
Scholar Support and Engagement: 30%
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Graduate Future Scholars, providing individualized support and guidance on academic progress, professional development, and campus resources
• Track student participation and progress toward degree completion
• Assist with coordination of the Graduate Future Scholars mentoring program, including facilitation of mentor-scholar check-ins and the mentor-mentee meetings and activities with undergraduate Future Scholars
• Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative data to assess program impact
• Identify opportunities to enhance scholar engagement and community belonging through feedback and data analysis
Recruitment and Selection 15%
• Collaborate with the Director and Graduate School staff on recruitment, application review, and selection processes
• Develop recruitment communications—including email campaigns, event invitations, and form updates—in collaboration with and under the guidance of the Graduate School Communications Office.
• Maintain accurate records of applications and Scholar data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with institutional policies
• Coordinate communication with applicants and academic departments regarding selection outcomes
Assessment, Reporting, and Operations 10%
• Assist in collecting and analyzing program data for internal reports and presentations
• Contribute to the preparation of annual program reports, highlighting participation metrics, outcomes, and successes
• Maintain organized files related to program operations, events, and student progress
• Support budget tracking for program activities and events
Other Duties as Assigned 5%
• Support Graduate School and Student Success initiatives, events, and projects as needed
• Represent the Graduate Future Scholars Program at university and community events when appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Specific Experience:
• Experience working in a college or university student services environment
• Demonstrated experience organizing student-focused workshops, seminars, or professional development events
Additional Requirements:
