About you and this role:
As a Global Reliability Engineer, you will serve as a steward within the Energy Business to ensure sustained reliability improvement through the utilization of proven practices and techniques. You will be aligned to the Energy Tech Center and will provide support to various sites that have Energy assets. A primary focus will be on opportunities that historically have impacted a site or multiple sites availability to provide strong and consistent steam reliability. This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of power plant equipment, design for reliability principles, and excellent collaboration/communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Drives development and implementation of Equipment Reliability Strategies (ERS’s) and validation of existing ERS’s to close gaps for reliability improvement
Provides guidance of existing PPM (preventative predictive maintenance) programs to ensure scope consistency and cost optimization
Tracks and reports reliability metrics against business targets including reliability unplanned events, asset utilization losses, and steam reliability
Provides key input to critical spare parts program including gas turbine component repairs and new purchases as well as parts inventory management for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO)
Governs a global Reliability Opportunity List (ROL) based upon asset prioritization and equipment criticality with the intent to decrease equipment failure losses, resolve common reliability issues, and ensure consistency across various sites
Provides oversight on GMISS compliance and provides technical guidance on mechanical integrity issues
Provides oversight on equipment condition monitoring and provides technical guidance on rotating equipment issues
Serves as a technical subject matter expert to support sites with the resolution of equipment failures and reliability unplanned events
Serves as a reliability subject matter expert and coaches others in the use of reliability engineering tools and principles to identify opportunities and improve equipment performance
Recognized Root Cause Investigation (RCI) SME that coaches others on RCI excellence and facilitates critical RCI’s when requested
Provides front end loading support for plant Turnarounds and occasionally execution and startup support
Participates on the Energy Business Global RE team and various other teams within the Tech Center as reliability representative
Partners with site reliability engineers to identify, prioritize, and resolve reliability opportunities through application of reliability engineering tools, technologies, and analytics
Conducts reliability field audits and provides reliability and maintenance input to the site Tech Center audits
Provides crucial support of annual maintenance and turnaround budget processes which includes development, tracking progress, adjustments, and reporting
Identifies key learnings with significant value and leverage across the site reliability network through learning experience reports (LER's)
Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (i.e. reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, outage execution, project management, etc.)
A minimum requirement of this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% annually and meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries worldwide

Reliability Engineering Expertise: Deep understanding of reliability principles and systems to lead improvements, prioritize accordingly, and close gaps based on plant and business needs
Strategic Technology Planning: Ability to align technology initiatives with business strategy to drive long-term value and innovation
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to integrate and coordinate across Operations, EH&S, Engineering, Project, and Commercial teams to achieve shared goals
Business Acumen: Understanding of market dynamics, cost drivers, and value creation to ensure technology decisions support business success
Effective Communication: Ability to convey complex technical strategies to diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making across levels
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
Work at heights, climbs stairs and ladders
Wear all required personal protective equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
Work in an area of intense or continuous noise

This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground
