  • Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, the global and EMEA home of the group’s duty free, air travel and cruises business.
  • The Absolut Group, the brand owner of our global white spirits portfolio, whose Gin brand unit and Business Acceleration team sit in London.

We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

More specifically this position is a manager role within the Global Brands Marketing Legal Team who are responsible for the marketing legal advice and support for all international brands within the Pernod Ricard Portfolio.

Your unique contribution

You will have 3 main areas of responsibility:

  • Manage, develop and mentor an Ireland and UK based team who provide general and specialist marketing support, dealing with agency and talent contracts, campaign review, new product development and other matters as required across the Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky portfolios. Provide strategic advice and personally manage the more complex work in this area.
  • Provide legal guidance on the use of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, digital platforms, blockchain, NFTs) in relation to marketing, and e-commerce channels -  contribute to the implementation of the legal marketing strategy for this area.
  • Anticipate legal and reputational risks related to marketing and innovation; design and implement policies, playbooks, and legal guardrails that support scalable and compliant global marketing practices. And provide day-to-day advice to various parts of the business, including advising on existing commercial relationships, flagging potential risks and issues with pending deals and negotiating current deals.

Internally, you’ll work with International Brand Marketing Teams, Global Marketing and Procurement Functions, Marketing directors, Senior Legal team Members and executive members of various affiliates.

Externally, your contacts will be external counsel, regulators and industry bodies

  • Success in this position requires expertise in marketing, advertising, consumer-protection law and awareness of emerging digital marketing risks. The ideal candidate has proven experience advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional marketing matters and translating legal requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance.
  • The role requires substantial knowledge of marketing operations and implications of campaigns, platforms, and technologies. Experience partnering closely with marketing, product, and digital teams is necessary, as is the ability to anticipate compliance challenges in fast-moving environments. Familiarity with platform governance, marketing strategies, and brand-safety best practices will enable the candidate to support innovation while managing risk.
  • To lead a team spanning two countries and jurisdictions, the candidate must bring strong people-management skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to build consistent standards across diverse regulatory landscapes. Experience developing teams, fostering collaboration across borders, and driving alignment with global strategies is essential. Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and change-leadership capabilities ensure effective oversight and strategic influence.
