We are seeking an experienced Global Employment Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions. This role partners closely with HR and business leaders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support global growth.
 
Key Responsibilities
·       Provide analysis and counsel on global labor and employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, discipline, reorganizations, terminations, training, policies, handbooks, compensation, and benefits.  
·       Advise on employment disputes and regulatory complaints (EEOC, NLRB, MCAD, etc.), Works Councils and CBAs, and manage outside counsel for some litigation matters.  
·       Draft, negotiate, and review employment-related documents, including senior executive agreements, benefits plans (ERISA, COBRA, 409A), change-in-control agreements, offer letters, and separation agreements.  
·       Develop and update employment agreements, separation agreements, policies, and handbooks to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, GDPR, etc.).  
·       Prepare and deliver training for HR and business partners on employment law and best practices.  
·       Lead legal compliance initiatives, including policies, processes, and training for the global workforce.  
·       Support M&A due diligence and integration, providing employment-related risk assessments and guidance.  
·       Monitor and analyze changes in employment laws globally; proactively advise management and recommend actionable guidance.  
·       Collaborate with HR and leadership to align legal strategies with business objectives and foster a strong compliance culture.  
·       Serve as a legal representative on committees and special projects as requested.  
·       Provide backup support for general corporate legal issues as needed.
 
Qualifications
·       Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; Bachelor’s degree required.  
·       Licensure: Active membership in any U.S. State Bar.
 
Experience:
·       Minimum 10+ years of US and international employment law experience. 
·       Prior experience in both law firm and corporate settings preferred.
 
Knowledge & Skills:  
·       Strong understanding of US and international labor and employment statutes and global compliance frameworks. 
·       Expertise in drafting and negotiating employment-related agreements and policies. 
·       Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
·       Other: Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and manage complex, cross-border issues. 
 
Preferred Skills
·       Experience with M&A employment matters.
·       Familiarity with data privacy laws.
·       Ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice.
Salary based on region, qualifications and experience 170,000 to 190,000 plus 25% bonus
